  • Can I Get Pierced?

For people 15-18yrs old, we only offer outer ear piercings. We also offer lobe piercings on ages 5 and up as a safe alternative to "mall piercers." All minors need a guardian present as well. Both guardian and child need I.D and matching last names or proof of guardianship. Legal adults can sign for themselves but still need proper I.D to get pierced.

  • What Does "Proper I.D" Mean?

Proper ID includes something with your picture, full name and date of birth. Passports, ID cards, driver’s license or permit, passport cards, birth certificates in combination with a photo ID will also work. If you are under the age of 18, both you and your parent will need ID, and if you have different last names or addresses, a birth certificate is required as well. We cannot accept school IDs alone, they need to be accompanied by a birth certificate.

  • How Much Will My Piercing Cost?

Your piercing cost will be broken down in to two parts – a piercing fee and the cost of jewelry. We have a piercing fee of $40 for the first piercing, and then every additional piercing done in the same sitting is only $30. All earlobe piercings are $30 per piercing. The price of jewelry can vary greatly, it solely depends on your style and budget. At De l'Or we have a huge, ever-changing rotation of safe, implant grade materials, so that we can always be sure to find the perfect piece for you.

  • Do You Take Appointments?

Nope! We're solely a walk-in studio. That means you can walk in anytime and we'll do our best to help you then. We work on a first come first serve basis, and generally suggest swinging by earlier in the day to ensure we have plenty of time to see you.

  • Can I Bring My Own Jewelry To Be Pierced With?

We generally do not accept any sort of outside jewelry.
Every piece of jewelry that comes into our studio is carefully cleaned and autoclaved in our Statim G4 2000. This ensures each piercing experience is as sterile as possible and done with the highest quality materials that our industry has available. Without knowing where your jewelry came from or what it is made out of, there is no way to know that it is safe to wear in a fresh piercing. There are exceptions to this rule however, so please reach out to us directly at delorpiercing@gmail.com and we can discuss your options.

  • Does It Hurt? Will You Numb It?

We do not numb the area, nor is it safe to do so, because the numbed tissue will be stiff, often resulting in crooked piercings and a plethora of complications during healing once that tissue does eventually relax again. Regardless, numbing cream only effects the first few layers of skin and will not penetrate deep enough to prevent you from feeling the process. If you numb the area you'd like us to pierce before you come in, you will not be able to be pierced that day. We promise that the anxiety leading up to the piercing is way worse than the piercing itself. The best way to prepare for a piercing is by focusing on taking a few, deep, mindful breathes.

  • What Will I Experience During The Healing Process?

Redness, soreness, dry skin, swelling and aches are all common for most piercings throughout the healing process. As much as we'd like to help you trouble-shoot virtually, coming into the studio is the best way for us to help, so if anything feels off or looks funny, please do not hesitate to stop in for a consult at any time.

Pro-tip: using a travel pillow when sleeping is a great way to support your neck and head without putting any pressure on your healing ear piercings.

  • What Is Downsizing And How Important Is It For Me To Do It?

Downsizing is the process of replacing the initial backing you were pierced with (which usually has excess length to compensate for swelling), with one that is more fitted to your ear. This prevents movement and aids in the healing process. While not all piercings may require it, it can be beneficial to prevent snagging and discomfort from the longer post. Placements like flat or helix piercings, should be downsized in 4-6 weeks to be sure the piercing angle does not shift. Once your piercing has shifted angles, it is very difficult, if not impossible for it to straighten back out and usually requires removal of the piercing. While we are not offering them at the moment, it is good to know that oral piercings also require downsizing to prevent tooth and gum damage.

  • Can I Go Swimming With A Fresh Piercing?

We suggest waiting a minimum of 6-8 weeks before submerging a piercing in water for extended periods of time. While salt water may be good for your piercings, the bacteria in the ocean, as well as pools are not. Please plan accordingly!

  • Can I Buy Your Jewelry Online?

Not yet, but we're working on it!

  • Do I Still Need To Wear A Mask In The Studio?

The short answer is, no. That being said, it doesn't matter if you're vaccinated or come in with your most recent negative test, if you are feeling sick we ask that you wear a mask in the studio and come back to be pierced when you are feeling better. We are a studio run by just a few folks who can't afford to to get sick. It's for our safety and for yours that we ask you to wear a mask if you are not feeling well. If you don't have one on you, we're happy to give one to you. Thank you in advance for understanding and for helping keep us safe. ❤️
